I specialise in modern pop music, supporting students who want to feel confident playing, recording, and performing their own music.

Having written for Sony Music Publishing and recorded at Abbey Road Studios on multiple occasions, I combine real-world industry experience with structured, student-focused teaching.

 

​Lessons are practical, creative, and tailored to each student’s goals — whether that’s exams, songwriting, performance, or personal enjoyment.

Piano & Keyboard
Foundational technique, modern accompaniment, and musical expression.

  • ABRSM & Rockschool up to Grade 6

  • Modern pop accompaniment (chords, patterns, left-hand technique)

  • Reading, rhythm, coordination, and musical confidence

  • Support for both exam and non-exam pathways

Guitar
Rhythm, harmony, and confident accompaniment.

  • Rockschool up to Grade 6

  • Modern pop accompaniment (strumming, fingerstyle, chord fluency)

  • Playing while singing

  • Song-based learning alongside solid technique

Voice
Healthy technique, expressive singing, and performance confidence.

  • Specialisation in modern pop, with foundations in classical, opera, and musical theatre

  • ABRSM and Rockschool up to Grade 8

  • Breath control, pitch, tone, vocal health, and stage confidence

Songwriting & Composition

Turning ideas into complete, expressive songs.

  • Chord progressions and harmonic structure

  • Melody writing and lyric-melody fit

  • Writing original instrumental pieces

  • Composing full modern pop songs with lyrics and melody

  • Developing a personal musical voice

Music Production & Demo Recording
From idea to first recording.

  • Introduction to Logic Pro and GarageBand

  • Recording vocals and instruments

  • Basic arranging and production skills

  • Helping students create their first demos with confidence

Music Theory
Understanding the music behind the sound.

  • Music theory for composition and songwriting

  • ABRSM Music Theory support up to Grade 8

  • Clear, practical explanations linked to real music

  • Strengthening reading, analysis, and musical understanding

What We Offer


At Symply Create Academy, students are invited to explore a range of musical paths, guided by curiosity, creativity, and care.

Lessons are 45 minutes long and can be tailored to your needs and interests.​ All students receive a personalised Google Drive folder to track their progress and access learning materials.  We welcome students of all abilities and needs - and our calm, mindful approach is especially helpful for people who thrive in supportive, flexible environments.

Private Lessons

Each session is 45 or 90 minutes long and may include any combination of singing, piano, guitar, songwriting, or demo recording. â€‹ Lessons are booked in a package of 10 lessons each term. Cancellations may be made up to 48 hours before the lesson. The lesson is chargeable if made underA notice of 48 hours before the start time. Lesson times are subject to availability.

  • TUESDAY  | 1 pm until 9 pm 

  • WEDNESDAY | 1 pm until 9 pm 

  • THURSDAY  | 1 pm until 9 pm

Saturday Groups 

Small group lessons are 45 minutes long. Lessons are booked in packages of 10 per term. As these are group lessons, missed lessons are chargeable, but you are welcome to offer that lesson to a friend during that term who can join instead.

10 am - piano and vocal beginner 

11 am - piano and vocal intermediate 

 

2 pm - songwriting beginner 

3 pm - songwriting intermediate 

4 pm - songwriting advanced​
